Todd and the buffalo
By Brian Magnuson
Todd had lost his way. He had left the comfort of his home to find a new fishing spot. It had been quite a while since he left his home however, and he was begining to get worried. If he couldnt find a fishing spot soon he would have no fish for dinner. He had really liked his old fishing hole but he thought the fish were getting a little small. So he had set out to find a new one with bigger fish. But now Todd regreted his decision because it was getting dark and he was getting very hungry. Just as he began to loose hope he stumbled out of the bush and onto the shore of the most beutiful lake he had ever seen. He took a moment to digest all he was seeing when he noticed the rather large buffalo standing in the middle of the lake. Todd attempted to get the buffalo to move for fear that he would scare the fish, but the buffalo wouldnt budge. Todd was puzzled. But then the buffalo spoke.
"Todd," said the buffalo "you must not eat the fish in this lake for they are poisoned by the power plant up the river. The only safe fish for you are the fish in the lake from whence you came"
Todd was infuriated. But being a man of cool temper and wise thoughts he just thanked the buffalo and went back the way he came.
"Just goes to show," thought Todd "the grass is always greener on other side."
