| In this first image, I have cropped the original photo so that the main focuses are easier to see. There is clearly layering in the photo with the truck in the foreground, the person in the mid-ground, and the mountains in the background. With the cars lined up in the image, it creates a distinct pattern. Our eye is drawn to the truck at the bottom left and moves throughout the picture, ending in the top right area. This is due to the curved lines of the road and the truck, all leading us in the same direction. The color in the photo also drawn us in, especially the white of the truck and the snow, giving us a sense of joy and enlightenment on this early morning. Both the truck and the snow help to frame the picture and guide us towards following the road outwards. The distinct lines of the cars, seeming to be straight, but also at a slight diagonal, are due to the zooming in of the picture and aid in having us follow the person to the end of the road. The rule of thirds is another aspect applied since the truck is in the bottom third of the frame, while the person and the cars are near the top third. This helps direct our eyes towards the main subjects of the picture. This picture was taken on Friday, January 13, 2017 at around 8:15am. I took this photo from outside my dorm room window in Rendezvous at Idaho State University and found it to be very simple and serene. |
