Cross Country Skiing

This photo was taken while cross country skiing with my family in Tauphus park in Idaho Falls. The subject is my mother. Taken at 4 P.M. on 1/14/2017. This picture has a strong foreground subject. The tracks from previous skiers create vertical lines that lead the eye down the enclosed path of trees. The shadows of the trees behind the subject create diagonal/horizontal lines. The subjects dark coat creates contrast with the white snow. The photo is also candid because the subject was not posing for the shot. The balance of the photo comes from the subject's location in the middle of the shot.
