Sunday Driving

This
picture was taken on a drive on Olympus Dr. with a friend Sunday, January 15, 2017 at about
4:30 pm (The way this picture is angled makes it look like I was driving, but I
wasn’t. I promise we were being safe.) This picture has layering. The foreground is the rearview mirror of the car, part
of the dash board, and the dreamcatcher hanging in the window. The mid ground
is the trees and road, and the mountains and sky make up the background. The
dark of the mirror and the brightness of the sky provide contrast in this photo. There is also psychological closer because of the way the car mirror is cut off
on the top of the image. It’s not super noticeable, but this picture was
intentionally very slightly canted. There
is some repetition in a couple areas
of this picture. One is the lines on the road and the other is the repetition
of trees in the mid ground. The rule of
thirds was also used. The dream catcher and sun both fall on one of the
vertical lines of the rule of thirds, and those are meant to be the main subjects
of this photograph.
