Finding the Right Line

I took this candid photo of my girlfriend on the top of Mary's Hill as she tries to find the line that she wants to take to get back to the bottom of the mountain. This picture was taken Saturday the 14th around noon at Grand Targhee Resort. There is extreme depth and layering in this photo with Claire in the foreground, the mountain range in the mid ground and the distant horizon in the background. Her dark coat and snow pants compared to the bright blue skies and the white snow create color and contrast. There are slightly diagonal lines that are created by the shadows of the trees with the sun behind our back. I allowed a lot of look room to notice the beautiful scene in the background. I didn't notice the rule of thirds until I looked at the photo later, but she is in the lower right hand third and the mountain continues up to the upper right third. I took this photo at a slightly higher angle because I was just above her on the ridge.
