A vintage blue farm truck slowly decays in a pasture during Idaho's coldest months. The sky blue paint is cracked and chipped, both door panels are peppered with rusty bullet holes from target practice long ago. The cab has long since rotted away, leaving only metal springs and pins while it is overgrown with wild grass and thistle. The bed extends farther into the pasture, sagebrush, and snow; splintered, sun-bleached boards balance tediously on what is left of the skeleton like frame.
This photograph was taken at 1:36PM on Sunday January 15, 2017 after a short hike into a small pasture outside American Falls, Idaho. This photo was taken from a low angle with the subject being in the foreground along with color and contrast from the blue, brown, green and black of the aging paint covering the body of the truck. Texture can also be seen on the door panels, created by the bullet holes. The truck’s bed creates a leading line from the cab into the background of the pasture.
