Waffles the cat takes a brief break from a heated battle with her stuffed lobster. The photo depicts extreme foreground subject (Waffles and her lobster are very close to the camera), a candid subject (she was playing, only taking small moments to hold still), shallow depth of field (Waffles, the lobster, and some of the quilt are in focus, but the blanket behind the cat and the rest of the photo are blurred), and color and contrast (the red of the lobster stands out against all of the other, more subtle colors, and it and the cat are the brightest subjects in the photo). The photo was taken Friday, January 14th. Waffles is my kitten and the lobster, as yet unnamed, is her favorite toy.
