This image was taken Thursday, January 12th at 6:32pm at Winco in Pocatello, Idaho. This candid subject image has an interesting composition with many leading lines and layering. Theses vertical lines lead to viewers eyes from one shopper to the next in line and out the door which also creates the feeling of motion. The image also creates a pattern among the shoppers as they stand in the checkout line. The rule of thirds is depicted in this image as well since the two main subjects/ focal points are located along each the outer thirds out the image. Finally, the photograph represents a sense of balance withe the subject being on opposite sides of the image.
This image was taken Sunday, January 15th at 11:06am at my friends house in Pocatello, Idaho. The image is canted, or as a Dutch angle, and it also has a shallow depth of field which creates a visual pleasing image. This photo is composed of color and contrast between the white a black background and the colorful subjects in the foreground. The crayons create a pattern as well as leading lines within the image that point to the snowman. The ribbon also creates texture in the image.
The final image was taken Sunday, January 15th at 9:17pm at my apartment in Pocatello, Idaho. This image was taken from a high angle which provides an interesting photograph. The image was also taken at a canted angle which off sets the image a little bit. The photograph also displays a dynamic subject placement with the help of the rule of thirds. This provides the focal point of the image to be in the bottom right side of the image. This in turn creates an imbalance in the image. The image also creates a curved line with the papers spread out across the bed.
