| In this image, the dog is the main subject that the viewer's eye should be drawn to. The rule of thirds is used in this photo because the dog is in the left top corner where two of the lines meet. There is also color and contrast used in this photo, with the dogs fur being so clear and easy to see, and the grass and snow in the background being blurry. That draws the viewer's eye away from the background and towards the dog. This photo also depicts reflections of the subject and look room. Behind the dog his shadow is visible letting the viewer know that the sun was shining on the dog and that was captured in the image. Since the dog is on the left hand side of the image and he is looking out towards the right, it is creating look room for the dog. He is looking to the side of the photo with more background instead of towards the other side with little background showing. Since the dog is also so close to the camera, making him bigger and easier to see, the viewer will more easily be drawn to him instead of if he was farther away, there might be more things for the viewer to be drawn to other than the main subject. This picture was taken on January 14 around 3:00 p.m. on Cadet Field at Idaho State University. My friend let me take some pictures of her dog Rusty, and this is him. |
