ducks in a row

These ducks were hanging out on a log at the Loveland Aquarium in Salt Lake City. The photo was taken on Sunday afternoon, the exact time i'm not sure but could be found on the exif data. This photo shows depth of field as there is a duck in the foreground and one in the mid-ground. The duck in the mid-ground is in focus which leads the viewer's eye there. The photo displays many interesting lines from the logs that the ducks are on and also has some reflection from the water that they are seated over. Usually a subject completely in the center violates the rule of thirds but this faux pas is combated given that the composition of the photo is such that your eye tends to wander throughout it. This photo displays stark contrast as well, especially where the focus subjects head meets the log behind him. The angle of the shot is slightly higher than the subjects and overall the picture color has a warm tone.
