1/16/2017 studio apt, salt lamp.
|
This picture was taken in my studio apartment of my girlfriend's salt lamp. The composition consists of strong
contrast between
textures,
colors,
shapes and
depth of position. The frame contains
balance in the
rule of thirds format. The object (salt lamp) is to the right of the composed frame which gives in to the rule of third framing. The luminescence of the lamp contrasts the dark surrounding drawing the eye toward our subject/object and its more bright center. The texture on the lamp its self appear coarse and shinny, while the black glass top provide a smooth sleek texture which contrasts and provides opposing balance. Furthermore, the color of the salt lamp and the colors of the rest of the composed image have a drastic dynamic color range. This picture was taken approximately at 8:45 p.m in my studio apartment.

1/15/2017 apt hallway, illuminated hallway.
|
In this photo of the pathway to my studio apartment, you can find
color,
depth and perspective,
balance and
composition symmetry. Drastic color contrast can be found by way of the dark glass in the door's upper side and by the red fire alarm centered in the upper portion of this photo as it contrasts the yellow hue created by the overhead lights drastically. The centered angle of this shot provides depth and perspective and draws the viewing with its balance and symmetry demanding the viewers attention as it lead them to the "back" of the hallway. The symmetry provides a constructed view point that flows from one direction to another. In this case being the hallway its self. This picture was taken approximately at 4:35 p.m in my studio apartment hallway and illustrates my doorway.

1/16/2017 A friend's house, water bottle in focus.
|
Here, you'll find a
dutch angle(oblique),
shallow depth of field (bokeh),
dynamic subject placement, and
high angle perspective. The dutch angle is providing the perspective of an object/subject tilted to an odd or oblique angle providing an odd view of the object. The background of the photo is blurred(bokeh) and provides more focus for the object in the foreground, in this case being the water bottle, ensuring that nothing in the background will serve to distract. Dynamic subject placement can be found within the frame, as the object is places in a captivating angle and relativity to the sensor or lens. Finally, the high angle perspective can be found, as we're peering down the object from a high point of view. We're looking from the top of the object and our eyes are drawn down. This picture was taken approximately at 3:45 p.m in a friend's living room space.
