Top photo is the original, bottom photo is cropped. This is Waffles the kitten as seen by one of her toys. The photo utilizes an extreme foreground subject (the stuffed animal, known as the "Cute," is very close to the camera, and the only object in focus), a candid subject (the kitten is seen in the background playing with another one of her toys), shallow depth of field (the Cute is the only object in focus and anything beyond is out of focus), the rule of thirds (in the cropped photo, the Cute's head is almost perfected placed at the bottom right axis of the imaginary lines of thirds), and look room (the Cute has a lot of space in the direction it is looking). This photo was taken in the warmth of a house in Pocatello on the morning of the 16th of January. The kitten is my cat Waffles busy playing with a toy, the stuffed animal is an unknown species simply referred to as the "Cute."
